The Obituary: The life of Reverend Dr. Abraham Robinson, Sr. began on September 9, 1963 in Miami, Florida. He was born to the late Mother Zellene Washington Howell and Mr. Arthur Lee Robinson, Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Pure Church of Righteousness in Live Oak, Florida. As a child, he attended the Public Schools of Hamilton and Suwannee County Systems and later graduated from Edison Senior High School in Miami, Florida. After High School, he attended The Evangelical Theological Seminary, Orlando, Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Theology; Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Art Degree in Business Administration. Additional studies includes Doctoral Studies - Divinity, with an Earned Degree at The University of Texas Divinity School in Austin Texas; and Master of Divinity, with an earned degree at The University of Texas Divinity School in Austin, Texas. Following the career path of Auto Dealership, he was lead to Ocala, Florida where he met and married the love of his life, Maurina. In this blended family relationship there are six beautiful children, five girls and one boy. He loved cooking and barbecuing for family and friends. Family gatherings and fellowship with Church members and friends was a favorite pastime. His special hobbies included fishing, attending Florida A&M football games, as well as accompanying his daughters, Meriah and Micaiah, to volleyball games and tournaments. After relocating to Ocala, Florida, Rev. Robinson and family became members of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Fred Maeweathers, Sr. During this time he was called to Pastor, The New Second Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Dunnellon, Florida, where he served faithfully and untiringly until God called him home. Once Dr. Maeweathers introduced him to The Florida General Baptist Convention and The National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., he developed a strong love and appreciation for the Kingdom Building work he observed, and became involved in various Auxiliaries and Ministries, serving zealously as Congress Dean, Instructor, Teacher, Preacher, Moderator, Home Mission Program Director, and General Secretary for the Moderator's Division. Together, they traveled across the State of Florida and the Nation gathering, giving and growing as men of God. During the past two years, the family's church membership was moved to Ramah Missionary Baptist Church, Belleview, Florida, under the leadership of Dr. Melvin Cotton, Jr. Dr. Robinson leaves behind a legacy and precious memories to a loving and devoted wife, Maurina Robinson; Six Children, Erica Philllips (Zachary), Takelia Mitchell, Sheila Mitchell, Abraham Robinson, Jr.,(Jessica), Meraiah Hill, Micaiah Hill; Five Brotheres, Willie Ward (Luester), Gainesville, FL, Dave Ward (Jessica) Live Oak, FL, Earnest Ward, Tampa, Fla, Dr. Arthur Lee Robinson (Patricia), Live Oak, FL, Christopher Ward (Cynthia), Miami, FL; Three Sisters, Roxanne White, White Springs, FL, Gloria Guice, Live Oak, FL, Diane Watkins (Jack), Tampa, FL; One Aunt, Elizabeth McBride, Live Oak, FL; One Uncle, Isaiah Washington (Andrea), Miami, FL., and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. There is one sister and one brother who preceded him in death, Earlene Harris and Jeffery Robinson of Live Oak, FL.
The Home going celebration will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Ramah Missionary Baptist Church, Bellview, Florida. with the Rev. Melvin Cotton, officiating. The family will recieve other relatives and sorrowing friends, Friday, August 14, 2020 at New Second Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Dunnelion, Florida. Graveside and interment will take place, Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Delaware Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida. Professional Mortuary Services entrusted to Eric A.
