Reflections of Life
Mother Allonia Ann Griffin was born August 10, 1948 in Fort White, Florida to the late Jerry and Irene Griffin. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 2,2022 at ET York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, Florida. She received the greatest grace of eternal peace, where there is no pain, sadness or tears. She was proceeded in death by four brothers: Tommy L. Griffin, Stephen M. Griffin, Shelly Griffin, and Videll Griffin.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Fort White, Florida under the leadership of the late Rev. Burrell Rutledge. She later joined the Antioch M. Baptist Church, Fort White, Florida Rev. Donnell Sanders Pastor, where she served faithfully as Mother of the Church, Vice President of the Mission Ministry, President of the Deaconess Ministry, a member of the Pastor's Care Committee, Singles Ministry and the Marching Saint Choir. She also served the Suwannee River Progressive M. Baptist Association for many years as Association treasurer and recording secretary, 1st Vice President and assistant Dean of the Women's Department, finance Secretary of Union #2 and a member of the Association concert choir. She was Faithful to her God, her family, her church, her community and to all associational auxiliaries of the Suwannee River Progressive Missionary Baptist Association.
She attended the Columbia County Schools and was a 1966 High School graduate of Richardson High School. She retired after 30 years of employment from General Electric, Alachua, Florida.
Her life memories, smiles, and her willingness to help others will forever be remembered and cherished by her daughter: Tammy Griffin, son: Gordon Jones, Sr.(Daphne), Four grandchildren; Lance Griffin, Gordon Jones, Jr., Alyssa Jones, and Isaac Figueroa, Two brothers; Johnny Earl Griffin and Roger Griffin, Two sisters-in-law; Verlene Griffin and Connie Griffin, Special nieces and nephews; Maria Legree (Kierra), Toni Griffin, Kim Griffin, Jana and Marcus Anderson( Marcus, Jr.), Catresa Griffin (Makayla), Sharon Griffin(Jayden),Sharonda Griffin, Johnny Earl Griffin, Jr. ( Johnny III), Kevin Griffin (Leevander, Asia and Nikiyah), Four God-Children; Tangela Wilson, LaQuanda Shakespeare, Buddy Fleming and Jaire Powers. A host of sorrowing and caring cousins and supportive friends.
