Bernard Dupayne was born on March 28, 1958, in Havana, FL to the late Annie Frances Robinson Sellers and Mose Dupane. He departed this life on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL surrounded by family.
Bernard also affectionately called "Pops" accepted Christ at an early age. He was not ashamed to share his love of Jesus through song or eloquent dialogue when spreading the Good News. He knew no strangers and if it was your first time meeting him, you left his presence as a friend.
Educated in the public school system in Leon County, he used his skills and knowledge being known as a dedicated, hard worker, and valued employee for the State of Florida, City of Tallahassee, and Bond Community Health Center.
One of the most important things Bernard wanted people to know about him was that he loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. You would often find him enjoying the company of family. He loved to dance and oftentimes would break out into a song be it his own version ad-libbing as he sang. He also loved spending time with his friends at the Cigar Lounge where you could find him sporting his cowboy hat and boots. He always looked his best when he left his home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Frances Sellers; father, Moses Dupane; sisters, Sherry Payne and Loretta Dupane; dad, John Sellers; and brother-in-law, Edward Mathis.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Kenyon Wester (Vakesha); three daughters, Tara Dupayne, Terri Dupayne-Lee, and Shenika Dupayne; brothers, Charles Hayes (Cassandra), Rev. Fert Richardson, Jerry Payne, Jerome Dupine, Willie Sellers (Dorothy); and John Sellers (Pamela); sisters, Laverne Jones, Barbara Leonard (Lionel), twin sister, Bernice Kohn (Emory), Patsy Mathis, Janet Sellers, and Vonceil Sellers; grandchildren, Justin Stubbins, Jailah Armstrong, Kylie Wester, Serenity Lee, Kristian Wester, Samara Lee, Kiauna Tatum, Jitu Lee, Jr; Journei Lee, Kennedy Wester, and Fredrick Gordon, II; great-grandson, Braxtons Stubbins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him dearly.
