Bernice Loretta Bennett was born September 27, 1952, in Fort White, Florida, to the late James Bennett and Mildred Johnson. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the Church of God in Christ in Fort White, Florida, under the leadership of Elder Ned Banks and later became a member of Antioch M. Baptist Church in Fort White, Florida. Affectionally known as "Bonnie," she loved her family and friends and all those she came in contact with. She had a generous heart and did whatever she could to assist those in need.

She attended the Fort White public schools and later received her GED. She was employed by the University of Florida Physical Plant Division for many years. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Theodore White; this union was later dissolved. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Raymond Jr., Eugene, Alfonso, Linda, Wilbur Jr., and Jimmy Bennett; and one granddaughter, Tanisha Bing.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her two loving and devoted daughters, Caretta Bryant of Gainesville, FL, and Kathy Carter (Mike) of Ponte Verda, FL; six grandchildren, Veronica Bryant, Felicia Harris (Brian), Vernice Nixon (Marcus), Jerel Phillips, James Nixon (Hannah), and Jacob Covington (Ki); four sisters, Chellie Smith of Walterboro, SC, Patricia (Lenard) Simmon, Ella Balderas, and Annie Ruth Johnson, all of High Springs, FL; one brother, Ronnie Jackson (Delores); one sister-in-law, Barbara White of St. Petersburg, FL; one aunt, Marion Strawder of Gainesville, FL; two uncles, Frankie Sumpter of Gainesville, FL, and George Mack Strawder (Cheryl) of Fort White, FL; twelve great-grandchildren; four special nieces, Beverly White, Felicia Bennett, Vicke Cole, and Maria Balderas; three special nephews, Ray White, Jerry Peavy, and Jermaine Bennett; special goddaughter, Phyllis Conley; best friends, Willetta Jackson, Claretta Jackson, Temps White, and Karen Miniden; special cousins, Venelean Simpkins and Grant Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and sorrowing friends.
