Reflections of Life

Bonita was born in Live Oak, Fl. on August 10, 1952, to the proud parents of the late Jessie Mitchell Sr. and Mildred Mitchell.

Bonita accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.  She became a member of the Mt. Moriah, I.A.M.E. Church where she once served on the Usher Board.

Bonita attended Douglass Elementary and graduated from Suwannee High School 'Class of 1971' in Live Oak. After graduation, she attended Lake City Community College in Lake City, Fl.

She was a dedicated employee of Pilgrim's Pride better known to some as 'Gold Kist Poultry' for 51 years.

Bonita was a great mom and cherished her daughter Lora.  Whenever you saw one, you saw the other.  She was a very quiet, caring, and generous person and would help anyone in need.  She loved family and would drive miles to help and offer her assistance, if needed. Holidays were some of her favorite times because she loved to cook. The family will always remember her famous meatloaf.

Bonita was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Mitchell, Sr., her mother, Mildred Mitchell, one brother, Phillip Ford, Jr. (Oris), one sister, Elzenia Mitchell-Jonas (Raymond).

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Lora Rayam; one brother, Jessie Mitchell, Jr.(Mary); two sisters; Ouida Wilson, and Altermease Jones; one brother-in-law; Raymond Jonas; one uncle, Dan Ivory, Jr. (Linda); eight nephews; Tyrone Ford (Kadell), Joerome Jones (Yvonne), Waymon Ford, Fequea "Ted" Ford, Darryl Ford, Willie Ford (Thelma), Glenn Jones (Mona), Rodricus Jonas; seven nieces; Jacqueline Jackson, Cynthia Jones-Goodman, Runnette Mitchell (Clarence), Felicia Jones, Janisha Craft, Dramenia Jonas, and Juliet Ford; a host of great nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives, and friends.
