Cora Lee Simmons Terry was born in Jasper, Florida on November 22, 1944, to the Late Deacon Israel Simmons Sr. and Della Mae Owens Simmons.

Cora was united in Holy Matrimony to Johnnie Terry (Divorced and Deceased) and to this union, one child was born, Vincent Terry.

She attended Hamilton County schools and graduated from JRE Lee High School in 1962. Cora was a "Domestic Caretaker" most of her adult life. When her parents' health began to decline, Cora moved back to Jasper and became their full-time caretaker, until their demise. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, knitting, watching westerns and spending time with her family and friends. Cora also had a love for NFL football. For many years, she kept the scores to every NFL football game played. Her favorite team was the Indianapolis Colts. She loved her son and his family dearly, especially her grandson whom she adored. Cora accepted Christ at an early age and was most recently a faithful member of the Lily of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings, Florida. She loved her church family as she did her own.

Cora transitioned from Labor to Reward on Wednesday April 26, 2023, at HCA Hospital in Lake City, Florida.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one child, Vincent Terry (Lenore) of Daytona Beach, FL.; one grandson Demarco Terry of Daytona Beach, FL. One brother, Israel Simmons Jr. (Bug). One Sister-in-Law Phyllis Simmons. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. Her parents, (Israel Sr. and Della Mae) one sister (Josephine) six brothers (Bobbie, Willie Sr., Jesse, George, Jimmy, and Clifford) all who preceded her in death.
