Deacon Malcolm Brown, Sr. was born on November 9, 1932 to Floyd and Rilla Hunter-Brown.  He grew up with his siblinThe gs: L.T. Price, Doug Price, Helen Price Parnell, Leo Brown, Joe Brown, Lena Brown, Idell Brown Matthews and O.W. Brown who all preceded him in death and his only surviving sibling, Luke Brown.

Those who knew Dea . Brown can attest to the fact that he was a hard-working and responsible man who was dedicated to his tasks.  He was a helper, a provider and he loved his family.  He liked joking and laughing and his laughter was wonderful. Dea . Brown was a master on the grill and his family and friends considered him the best.  How he loved his vehicles and even when he was no longer able to drive, he would ask about his car and truck.  He could remind all that he needed to know who had his keys because he needed to get to work.

At Suwannee River Nursing Center, he was a joy.  Early on, he spent lots of time sitting near the fire place watching the front door and greeting those who came in and out.

He gave the best of his service at Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Brotherhood, Sunday School, Usher Board and Deacon Board.  He absolutely loved serving on the usher board and he was dedicated to this service.  He is the last of that great era… gone but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and two spouses:  Annie Mae Armstrong Brown and Sybil Stewart Brown.

On March 22, 2020, Dea . Brown slept away peacefully surrounded by family.

He leaves precious memories with his son:  Malcolm Brown, Jr; Loving daughter, Runette Brown Arnold; Step daughter, Vivian Green Stewart; Grandchildren:  Antonio Terrell Gibbons, Maxine Regena Manigo , Reginald Lamar Brown, Marcus Allen Brown, Andrea Wright (devoted granddaughter), Lafayette Awan Brown, Jasmyne Arianne Arnold, Terrance Rayford, Margaret Ann Rayford, Christopher Rayford; 13 Greatgrands ; Brother:  Luke Brown; A host of devoted nieces and nephews; A devoted family friend:  Vivian Wright.
