Delores Kaigler
Williams
Mar 28, 1949 — Nov 9, 2024
Deloris Kaigler Williams was born March 28, 1949, in Hamilton County Florida to La Voncia "Bonnie" Kaigler W. Sheppard and Roy Van Williams. In addition to her mother, Lois" loving grandparents Ernest "Kid Buddy" and Georgia Heath Kaigler shared in her raising.
Lois
was a cherished member of the community and was known for her gentle demeanor and infectious joy. Her laughter could light up any room, and she had a remarkable ability to find humor in every situation. One thing she captured from her mother is the smile. She could find the laughter in all things and tell jokes and then beat you laughing.
Thus, when you're smiling, when you're smiling the whole world smiles with you.
Lois
graduated from J.R.E. Lee High school in 1966, and throughout the years she remained faithful to the class by participating and helping organize class reunions and supporting all of the events to revitalize and keep the spirit of the high school alive and well in the commu-nity. Classmates and friends will remember her for her soft-spoken nature and jovial spirit.
Sis. Williams'
Christian Walk started earlier when she was baptized at the age of 8 at the Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Jasper Florida. She sang in the youth choir, Red Circle, and participated fully in Sunday School and other activities at the church.
Her passion for life was truly on display as a cheerleader in high school. During her youth, she loved to skate and dance.
After graduation, her life journey would take her to Bridgeport, CT, Boston, Ma and Alabama before returning back to Florida with her family. As an avid team mom, Lois provided the support to all of her children who performed exceedingly well in all sports. Needless to say, education was just as important, resulting in all of her children receiving high school diplomas, Christian training for her children was non-negotiable-Sunday School and youth training at church were a must. When Lois resettled back in Jasper, she reignited the flame that Bonnie, Daddy Buddy and Mama Georgia implanted in her as a young child by serving her community through the Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Sis. Williams
retired from Hamilton County School board after 30 plus years of dedicated and faithful service. She worked as a paraprofessional and data clerk where she had the opportunity to continue to minister and instill the importance of education to the youth of our community. Many of those students would tell her in later years, that the mentorship and love she imbedded in them made a tremendous difference in their lives.
When you're laughing, when you're laughing the sun comes shining through.
She was deeply devoted to her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. One of Lois greatest joys was interacting with family and friends. Her children and family were the center of her life.
One of Lois greatest passions was cruising. She loved the adventure and the opportunity to explore new places, always eager to embark on the next journey. Her zest for life and her adventurous spirit were truly inspiring. Her traveling partners: family, classmates, mission
ary society sisters, Golden members and friends will truly miss her presence. But we know Sister Lois, with a gentle laugh, would demand they continue the journey without her. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, family outings, church trainings and conventions, bingo, sewing, word search puzzles, and events with the Class of 1966 and Golden members.
Sis. Williams' life was a testament to her Christion faith and her mission-minded spirit, never giving up no matter the challenges with her health. She had a great sense of humor and a Christian heart, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her mission-minded and servant spirit led her to touch many lives through her acts of kindness and generosity. As a Servant-Leader, she consistently demonstrated her love for mission and outreach as a teacher for the Adult Women's Sunday School, member of the Adult Chair, Deaconess Board, Distinguished Golden Member and Missionary Society President. Sis. Williams unselfish service was certainly evident while visiting the sick and shut-in, giving away Thanksgiving baskets, assisting those harmed by recent hurricanes, conducing wellness calls, participating in Christmas socials and other church activities, distributing food and personal hygiene items to women's shelters- just to name a few.
Deloris Kaigler Williams will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering love for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Sis. Deloris. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts.
But when you're crying, you bring on the rain, so stop your sighing, be happy again.
