Elder Henry
Alvin. Brown, Sr.
Oct 27, 1943 — Mar 26, 2023
Pastor Henry Alvin Brown, Sr born October 27, 1943 in Mayday, Georgia to the late James H Brown Sr and Lucy A Brown.
Pastor Brown was the founder and Pastor of Washington Chapel Holiness Church. He had the love to sing for God as the founder and member of the Brown Brothers of Valdosta, Georgia. He was educated at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College where he earned his General Educational Development diploma and a trade in Automotive and Body Repair but later retired as a Bail-bondsman from Azalea City Bonding Company under the supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Barron of Valdosta, Georgia. He was an advocate for children in which he and his late wife Missionary Joyce A. Brown served as Foster Parents for many years until her death.
On June 14, 2013 he was untied in Holy Matrimony to Lady Julia A. Brown where they became leaders of Washington Chapel Holiness Church and to their union ten children were bonded in unity.
As a father and friend of many, Pastor Brown served faithfully as a Deacon and Elder for years under the direct leadership of the Late Bishop C. A. Brown Sr and The Church Built on the Rock. With many years as an ordained Minster and Pastor of God he still found time to visit the hospitals, jails, nursing homes, shelters, community centers where he would use his spiritual blessings to feed the needy, teaching, administering, directing and mentoring to the youth and the elders where he showed his true love for God. Being an obedient servant of God, his light will shine forever in those that have crossed his path while he was here with us showing his true meaning of love and family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Willie Brown Sr., Saul Brown, Joseph Brown Sr., James H. Brown Jr., sister Josephine Randolph and son Henry A. Brown Jr.
