On January 10, 1948, in Jasper, Florida, Elizabeth Taylor Cherry was born to the late Daniel Taylor and Annie Mae Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Mamie Lee James, Vincent Keel, Inez Allen, Daniel Henry Taylor, Willie B. Taylor, and Johnny Taylor.

Bet was a 1966 graduate of J.R.E. Lee. She worked as a seamstress at Jasper Textile for many years. She completed Childcare Certification at Sante Fe Community College and owned Cherry's Love & Care Home Daycare.

At an early age, she accepted Christ and lived out her faith through serving others. She was a current member of New Bethel AME Church.

On May 15, 2025, Bet transitioned to her eternal home.  She is survived by her  6 children, Paula Smith Poole, Perry, FL, Andrea Mosley, Jasper, FL, Natasha Daniels Live Oak, FL, Brian Taylor, Atlanta, GA, Katrina Cherry, Jasper, FL, and Dwayne (Claudia) Cherry, Jennings, FL, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 sisters – Ruby T. Williams, White Springs, FL and Hester James, Durham, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
