Ethel Mae Daniels James passed away at the age of 70 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida on August 24, 2021, following a courageous battle with COVID-19.

Ethel was born on October 9, 1950, in Jasper, Florida to Maggie Daniels and the late Starling Daniels. She graduated from Hamilton County High School in 1969.  Following graduation, she began a career as a seamstress at the former Jasper Textile for almost 30 years.  She worked at

Suwannee Valley Nursing home for seven years. She worked hard to be a provider and caretaker for her younger siblings. On New Year Eve 1976 she gave birth to her only son (Louis Frederick).  She also was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant AME Church where she served as church secretary for 40 plus years.  She became the caretaker for her parents in their later years and always made sure their needs were met.  Sharing was one of her biggest traits and she always willing to help others.   She met and married Willie C. James who preceded her in death in 1990.

Survivors include her son Louis Daniels, White Springs, FL stepchildren: Darrell James, Willie C. James Jr., Connie Rogers, and Tina Clayton.  Mother: Maggie Daniels, Siblings: Starling (Veronica),Daniels Jr., Joyce Bryant, Leon (Edna) Daniels, Danny (Ida)Daniels, Dorothy (Hubert) Daniels, Vinnie Christensen, Morris (Rhea) Daniels, Arlene (David) Bradley, Gwendolyn Banks; Aunts, Zeffie Lee Daniels, Vera Daniels, Johnnie Mae Daniels, Georgia Simmons, Mary Green, Rosa Stroud; Grandson, Quintin (Bria) Miller; a host of nieces, nephews,  cousins and other sorrowing friends.
