Hattie Mae Reid, was born on May 25, 1959 in Valdosta, Georgia to Mary Lee James and Father Slyvester Lee James. She received her education through Lafayette County School System. She also attended North Florida Community College in Madison, Florida.

Hattie was a CNA for many years. For the last 23 years she was employed with Lafayette Health Care located in Mayo, Florida where she was a dedicated and dependent employee.

Hattie welcomed her forever life on October 11, 2022 at 1:30PM at Shands @ UF in Gainesville, Florida with her loving family at her side.

Hattie leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband: Jimmy Reid Sr.; Two sons: Stephen James, (wife Tahnessia James) of Obrien, Florida; Jimmy Reid Jr. Of Mayo, Florida; Daughter: Regina McLendon (husband: Tim McLendon) of Orlando, Florida; Two sisters: Vivian Thomas and Lena Moody both of St. Petersburg, Florida; Brother; Larry James of Columbus, Georgia; Step-sisters: Daisy Thomas, Linda Crumity and Josephine Mulberry of Mayo, Florida; Brother-in-laws: Donald Reid, Willie Reid, O'Neil Reid, Johnny Reid Tommy Lee Reid of Mayo, Florida; Sister-in-laws: Carrie Thomas, Joyce Watson, and Sylvia Reid of Mayo, Florida and Anna James of Columbus, Georgia; God Daughters: Jillisa Thomas and Alicia Robinson of Mayo, Florida;  9 grandchildren: Amyah, J'zai, J'Dyn, Zoie, Qimarius, Desiree, Kailey, Zander, Jimmy Reid III; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
