Ida Mae Johnson Keel was born on September 19th, 1943, to the late James and Marie Johnson in Jasper, Fl. She attended J.R.E. Lee School in Jasper, FL. After high school, she received her certification and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed at Hamilton County Memorial Hospital until she retired. Giving of herself and caring for others came so natural to her and it is the legacy that she leaves behind.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George Simmons. She later joined Alpha and Omega Restoration Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Pamela Johnson. She was an active and devoted member and served in many capacities under both leaderships.

Ida was the loving wife of Sampson Keel Sr. who preceded her death in 2018.

On June 7th, 2023, Ida passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice, Lake City, FL exactly 5 years to the date of her husband, Sampson Keel Sr.

In addition to her husband, I was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Marie Johnson, 4 brothers: LJ, LW, Jack and Roosevelt Johnson, and 3 sisters: Georgia and Emma Johnson and Marie Brown.

Her memories will forever be cherished by her loving sisters Catherine and Lula Johnson of Jasper, FL, 3 Brothers: Eugene (Sallie) Johnson and Lewis (Daisy) Johnson all of Jasper, FL, and Ernest (LulaMae) Johnson of Lake City, FL, 2 Sister in Laws: Emily Johnson and Annie L. Johnson of Jasper, FL, 2 Stepchildren: Linette Keel and Sampson Keel Jr., 4 Brother in laws:  Aaron (Evaleena) Keel, Edward (Cheryl) Keel, Cecil (Mary) Keel, and Rev. J.T. Billy Simon.

Special Nephews: Jalen Strickland, Treyv'un Thomas, and Dreveun Jackson.

She also leaves many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her precious Fur-Baby Sparkie.
