Mr. Joe Lewis Smith was born June 4, 1938, in Jasper, Florida to Evelyn B. and Charlie Smith. He was the oldest of eleven children and attended JRE Lee High School in Jasper, Florida. Joe was loved by everyone and didn't meet a stranger.  He enjoyed traveling, crafting, and the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by Rev. Carrie Henderson, Ella Johnson, Helen Whetstone, Annie Whetstone, and Charles Smith. Joe Lewis slipped peacefully away at Capital Regional Medical Center of Tallahassee, Florida on December 27, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters: Shirley Bennett, Fannie (David) Claridy, and Mary Smith, all of Jasper, Florida, and Margie Solomon of Tallahassee, Florida; one brother: Willie F. (Marcia) Smith of Pensacola, Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends.
