John Townsend, Jr. was born November 30, 1948 in Jasper, Florida, to the late Corrine Smith and John Townsend, Sr. He attended JRE Lee Middle School in Jasper, Florida and was employed with Logging Work for many years. Later, he worked for Frank Walden for many more years until his health failed in the cleaning service area.

John confessed Christ at an early age before he became a member at St. Mary Baptist Church in Jennings, Florida. God called his angel home on August 20, 2020, in Suwanee Valley Nursing Home in Jasper, Florida.

John leaves to cherish his memory to Eartha Fudge; 2 Sisters: Donnie Mae Pie (James) and Shirley Cato Nash (Willie), all of Dade City, Florida; 2 Devoted Cousins: Louise Bryant and Barbara Rubison of Jennings, Florida; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.
