Johnny Simmons peacefully transferred from his earthly life to his heavenly home on August 3, 2024. He was born to the late George and Vera Simmons.

Johnny was a lifelong resident and was educated in the public schools in Hamilton County. Johnny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a faithful member of New Bethel AME in Bellville, Florida. He never forgot his faith and trusted God to see him and
his family through the good and bad that comes along with life. He will be missed greatly by his family and those whose lives he touched. In high school he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Graham, on September 25, 1966.

Upon Johnny's entrance into his Father's house, he leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Dorothy Simmons; his daughter, Vere Solomon of Jasper, Florida; a brother, Robert Slater (Linda); sisters-in-law: Versie Gideon (Walter) of Orlando, Florida, Juanita Horns of Lake City, FL and  Maggie Tyson of Jennings, FL; and brothers-in law: Yulee Graham of Jennings, FL, and Ernest Graham of St. Pete, FL. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Albert, Monica, Jonathan, Arionna Solomon, Ciara (Taiwan) Williams and Nakita Tucker, all of Jasper, Florida; and
5 great grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
