Mother Josephine Elizabeth Brown Randolph was born on March 15, 1940 to the union of the late Elder James Harold Brown, Sr. and the late Lucy Potter Brown in Jasper, Florida, who affectionately called her "Sister". She attended Hertoma High School and was a member of their 1957 graduating class.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Pentecostal Holiness Church Faith. She served under the leadership of the late Bishop Coy A. Brown and the Church Built on the Rock Holiness Church until she later joined her brother, Elder Henry Brown, Sr. and the Washington Chapel Holiness Church where she served as church mother until her health failed. She was an active member of the 100 Women in White and the Ladies Fellowship Group.
She was known for strong alto voice which she offered up as a part of the Brown Sisters, the Church Built on the Rock Choir, the Hamilton County Mass Choir and the Washington Chapel Holiness Church choirs. During devotional services she would render her favorite congregational song, "Look Around and See, What the Lord Has Done" .
She worked as a seamstress for Levi's Strauss and Company for 30 years where she was an active member of the CIT Community Involvement Team until her retirement in 1996. She retired to take on a hobby she loved, and held near and dear to her heart, her family. She raised her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren as well. Mother Randolph was well known for her southern style of cooking and baking and will always be remembered for her care and love for her family, church and community. She departed this life to abide with her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 4, 2019.
She leaves to cherish her memories three beautiful children; Morresia Jackson, Atlanta Ga., Mary Jane Walker (Neil), Jennings, Fl., Eugene Randolph (Sharon), New York, NY., a special son she raised as her own, Eric A. Brown (Anya), Valdosta Ga., five wonderful grandchildren that she raised, Anthony Hogan (Mildred), Valdosta Ga., Craig Randolph (Shamika), Atlanta Ga., Katrina Hogan Crumpton (Cedrick), Valdosta Ga., Renee Withers (Joseph), Atlanta Ga., Krystal Yearby (Tony), Valdosta Ga. Two special grandchildren she raised, Deasza Lewis (Tobias), Valdosta, Ga, and Michael Anderson, Atlanta, Ga. Nine remaining grandchildren, Sierra Goethe (Phillip), Stetson Randolph, Auburn Randolph (Stacy), Briana Matchett, Jelessa Marks (Justin), Jada Brown, Erica Brown, Brittany Rountree, and Eric Brown II. Twenty-eight great-grandchildren Aerial Livingston, Anthony Hogan Jr., Akasha Williams, Tyshon Hogan, Trinity Randolph, Alexxander Williams, Daruis Hogan, Jhakobi Hogan, Myasia Randolph, Craig Randolph Jr., Christopher Wolfe, Kelsi Withers, Shamon Goethe, Christian Randolph, Jabarie Goethe, Sydney Withers, Tori Yearby, KaDarius Smith, Tiana Lewis, Collis Doe, Makayla Anderson, Tobias Lewis Jr., Stetson Randolph Jr., Adalind Randolph, Leah Randolph, Londyn Anderson, Zuri Withers and Mason Brown, eight loving siblings, Elouise Brown, Valdosta Ga., Willow Dean Jenkins (Ernest), Valdosta Ga., Rose Barfield, Winter Haven Fl., Pastor Henry Brown (Julia Ann), Valdosta Ga., Jessie Brown (Marrietta), Valdosta Ga., Joseph Brown (Joyce), Valdosta Ga., Theodis Brown (Evelyn), Tacoma Wa., and Charles Brown, two beautiful sisters-in-laws, Dolly Brown, Atlanta Ga., and Etta Jane Brown, Tifton, Ga., Sanovia Randolph, Orlando, FL, one godson, Apostle James Smith (Sabrina), Valdosta, Ga. special family of friends in the Sally Riley, Enoch Clark, Riley Family, Tooley Family, Brown Family, Wright Family, Alice Haynes, Montgomery Family and Vaqeuerano Family and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Home-Going Celebration will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Union Cathedral Ministries in Valdosta Ga. Public Viewing will be Friday, October 11, 2019 from 4-6 PM from the Chapel of Eric A. Brown & Son Funeral Home also Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 12-6 PM from the sanctuary of Washington Chapel Holiness Church in Valdosta GA. Professional Mortuary Services are entrusted to Eric A.
