Julie Ann
Gibson
Apr 29, 1969 — Jan 4, 2021
Lake City
Born April 29, 1969 to Arlene and James Thompson in San Diego, California, Julie grew up in a military family. Military life afforded her the opportunity to move throughout the country with her family. Moving throughout the country allowed her to be exposed to a diversity of cultures which contributed to Julie's ability to relate to all people. Her ability to relate to others could be seen in her career choices where she was employed in the food service industry and as a caretaker. She met the love of her life, Willie Gibson, Jr. in 1989 on a blind date and they were united in marriage for 32 years. Julie was known for her giving nature, desire to help others and straight forward style of interaction. Julie's enjoyed cooking and playing games of chance.
At an early age she professed her faith in God in the Catholic denomination and subsequently strayed away from God's will for her life. However, at a later age she reestablished her relationship with God and joined Trinity United Methodist Church, Lake City. Julie stated "I am a work in progress. I love the Lord."
Julie loved her family. She left behind to morn Willie Gibson (Husband), Jaclyn Smith (sister), Crystal Smith (niece), James Thompson (brother), Justin Smith, Christopher Smith, Anthony and Alexander Turner (nephews) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and the church family.
Mrs. Julie slept away peacefully on Monday January 4, 2021 @ Haven Hospice in Lake City FL.
