Kendrick Lamar
Robinson Sr.
Oct 24, 1976 — Jan 1, 2023
Jasper
Let it be known to all, in his own way, Kendrick Lamar Robinson, Sr. mirrored the oak tree, as expressed above. Being the first child born to Linda Gail Roberson, Kendrick was also the son of Fred Young, III, and the sparkle of his grandparents, Ernest and Maebel Roberson's eyes, whose love, protection, and guidance would become primary as he grew from infancy to manhood at home, and in public schools of Hamilton County.
While also attending Sunday School and Church, and ultimately being baptized at the Greater Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Kendrick learned to be the maintenance and supporting strength of, and to his family, especially to his mother and younger siblings; Antonio Robinson, Brandon Riley, Dashia Roberson and Kwame (Duke) Roberson. Even amid acknowledged challenges, trials, and disputes, as "A mighty wind blew night and day ," Kendrick's commitment to his children, Kendrick, Jr., Kayla, and Dae'yonne, including his love to his uncles, Jackie Roberson (Edna), and Lloyd Freelove (Andrea), nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends, especially LaToya, was unrelenting. Above all, his granddaughter, Nai'lah was the ABSOLUTE Delight of his life.
With "Roots stretched in the earth, growing since birth," Kendrick also developed "Personal" extended families in varied cities and communities, just as he did throughout the communities of Jasper. Even in neighboring cities of Live Oak, and Lake City, including Valdosta, Georgia, and in Jacksonville, Florida with his "Employer, Mentor and Friend, Mr. Bruce Bailey, Kendrick was loved and always showed love, care, and concern in his own way - often from the deepest part of himself - nevertheless, it was LOVE .
These families would also play a vital and pivotal role in mastering his skills in woodworking; whether it was being a handyman in carpentry, construction, plumbing or simply creating or building a wall or a floor, Kendrick mastered his craft in using any kind of building equipment, tools and/or construction instruments; with determination, Kendrick was known to be strong-willed, steadfast, and unmovable. As life continued, Kendrick maintained his stamina, strength and silent strong-will to the bitter end.
"
But still the Oak Tree held its ground while other trees fell all around.
