Coot passed peacefully from this life on, she was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during the last days of her life.
Birth and Childhood
Coot's remarkable life began October 30, 1927, in Ashburn, GA. Coot spent her early years with her maternal Grandfather Leroy Section and Grandmother Lee Ann Boone-Section in Community of Amboy. Later on she moved to Cordele, GA to live with her Mother Leola Section-Paul and Father Willie Paul. Coot was the second of seven children. She had three sisters, Beulah Thompson, Mary Mathis, and Betty Miller and three brothers who have preceded her in death, Wilbert Paul, Edmond Paul, and Richard Paul.
Education Experience
Although not formerly educated, Coot was profoundly wise and endowed with practical common sense. Coot was told she had to work on the plantation and was forced to quit school in the 3 rd grade. Coot had a passion for reading, the Bible, Ancient Civilization, World History, American History, and Science. Coot was a Scholar.
Work Experience
Coot was raised in the field of South GA. She picked cotton, tobacco, peas, tomatoes, etc. She was a domestic engineer, and later worked at Holiday Inn. In 1969, she moved to Huntington, NY and resided there until 2001 after the World Trade Center Attack.
Religious Experience
Coot was active in her church going door-to-door in the community witnessing to those who were lost.
Hobbies
Coot enjoyed cooking, reading, discussing the top news stories, current affairs, Thrift Store shopping, and antique restoration.
Her Love of Family
Lee Anna Section-Jones married Charlie Jones of Waynesboro, GA. She is the mother of four: Margie J. Stanford, Charles Jones of New York City, Gail J. Winston and Bishop Aaron L. Winston, and Yvonne Thompson. Grandchildren: Carla and Owen Davis, Nathaniel and Erica Stanford, Anthony and Katherine Jones, Angela and Ronald Herring, Jimmy and Berlie Sermons, Jonathan and Jennifer Sermons, Delisa and Marvin Martin, and Shalom Moore-Jones and Natasha. She had host of great grandchildren. Coot's Great Great grandson is Mason Brown.
