Lewis Siler was born in Lowndes County on January 22, 1952 to the late Henry and Beulah Siler.

Lewis attended school and graduated from Hamilton County High School in Jasper, Florida. At an early age, he became a member of Bethel AME Church in Belleville, Florida. He was married to Lucille Siler. His favorite pastimes were working on the farm, truck driving, and watching wrestling matches on TV.

On August 8, 2022, Lewis accepted the Master's call and was granted his heavenly angel wings when he stepped into eternity from the Copperas Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Copperas Cove, Texas, and accepted his place at home with the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his memories to one sister: Dara Oladele of Valdosta, Georgia; one brother: Kenneth Williams of Valdosta, Georgia; three brother-in-laws: Mike Ponds, Willie Hill, and Ulysses Cherry, all of Jasper, Florida; three sister-in-laws: Sylvia Ponds and Christine (Taft) Smith, both of Jasper, Florida, and Catherine (Daniel) Kelly of Jacksonville, Florida; four step-children: Shantina Riggins and Anthony (Nancy) Rose, both of Jennings, Florida, and Brenda (John) Simmons and Reginald Rose, both of Copperas Cove, Texas; special granddaughter: Shontay Johnson of Copperas Cove, Texas; special great-grandson: Makelton Wells of Copperas Cove, Texas; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; God-sister: Vanessa Faye Curry; special friends: Charles Tucker, Dwayne Cherry, and Ernest "Junior" McClain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
