Martin H Welcome Sr. born on October 09, 1949 in Jasper FL, in the middle of a cornfield, to Lelia Lee Welcome and Willie Welcome. At the age of 8yrs because of a lengthy bout with rheumatic fever he went to live in Ft Lauderdale FL with his two favorite aunts Frederica and Ayonna, who took turns caring for and rearing him until he was 14yrs old. At age 14 he returned to Jasper and his family Mother, Father and his ten siblings. After a short two years and after the death of their beloved Mother, Lelia, in 1965, the Welcome family moved to Philadelphia. Martin lived with his uncle Clyde. In 1966 he met Carol Dobson, the girl who would later become his wife. He wanted to have his own family so he started working at a furniture store, then the naval supply depot on Tabor road, on Feb 13, 1969 he began working at The Franklin Smelting Co. He was then able to begin his family. On Sept 6, 1969 he married his beloved Carol. Martin Henry, (Henry to his family and close friends) loved to work on and drive fast cars. In his spare time he also loved to ride motor cycles. This was his labor of love that also allowed him to make money and enjoy his job. Martin fathered four children Tynia Welcome, Tiffany Welcome, LaQuana Welcome, Martin H. Welcome Jr. Martin retired from Franklin Smelting Co. on Sept of 1997. He and his wife moved Back to Jasper in March of 2008 to reside at 3115 N.W. County Rd where they lived until 2011. October 2, 2016, he married his second wife Angela Welcome who he cherished as much as she cherished him they lived happily until the Lord called him home on Wednesday November 11, 2020. Tiffany, His son: Martin Henry Welcome Jr. Step-children: Patrick, Marie, Karla. Four grandsons Michael, Caprice, and Tyree, Jaden. One granddaughter: Briana his Three brothers Lawrence, Willie and Charles, Four Sisters: Elaine, Martha, Alicia, Pricilla and a host of family members and treasured friends.
