Mary Lee Verdell , 60, of Valdosta, Ga., gained her wings Tuesday, July 19th. She was born February, 4th 1962 in Homerville, Ga., to Roy Verdell Sr. and Willie B. Jones who preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in her passing by her eldest brother Johnnie Jones Sr.(Marietta) of Valdosta, Ga.
She is survived by her son Marcus and her daughter-in-law Tanesha Verdell of Macon, Ga., Five brothers and sisters, Mattie Crumpton(Willie) of Stockton, Ga., Roy Verdell Jr.(Clem) of Valdosta, Ga., Rosa Lewis(Fred) of Orlando, FL., Roman Jones (Linda) of Jacksonville, FL., Andy Jones(Sandra) of Detroit, MI., Two grandchildren Fayanna and Dimitri Williams of Macon, Ga., her very special nephew Artavious Verdell of Valdosta, Ga., a very special niece Shanika Whitfield of Valdosta, Ga., a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who were very close and loved by her, two Uncle's whom she loved dearly, Robert Verdell Sr.(Willie Mae) of Hastings, FL., Horace Verdell Sr.(Lois) of St. Augustine, FL., and her very close friend Barbara Marshall of Valdosta, Ga.
She grew up and attended school in Echols Co. Ga., and graduated from Echols Co High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation she left her hometown and moved to Palatka, FL., where she had her only son in 1982. A couple of years later she moved to Augusta, Ga., where she obtained her CNA for nursing. She was a member of Unity Sabbath Day Church of God, Pastor Larry Eason.
She loved helping people, listening to her gospel music, and reading her Bible. If you ever needed a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on she was always there, no matter what she was going through herself. She lived loving and will truly be loved and accepted into God's welcoming arms
