Mrs. Gladys Mae Hooks was born to the late Ella Newsome and Jessie Williams on July 16, 1917, in Brooks County. Early education Lowndes County.

She was married to the late Willie James Hooks. In that union one daughter was born: Margie Ann Hooks Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister: Jessie Mae Williams Arnold and one granddaughter April Elaine Wright.

She received Christ at an early age. She was a member of House of God Saints of God under the leadership of Bailey Nick Hightower later joining Evangel Temple under the leadership of Bishop Wright.

She leaves to cherish her life story one Daughter: Margie Hooks Davis. Great Grandchildren; Christopher Stoney (Melissa), Brandon Gerrison, Tayler Gerrison, Desmond Gerrison, Alyah Wright and Delphine Roberson. Great-Great Grands; Amaiyah Kings, Desmond Stoney, Jalisha Marro, Callen Stoney. Goddaughter; Wanda Smithson and Delphine Roberson.
