James Ray Scott Jr. was born on November 23, 1973, to Lorretha Williams and James Ray Scott Sr. He received his education through the public schools of Valdosta, Georgia, and attended Valdosta High School.

James was a hardworking and dedicated man who devoted himself to his family and the people he loved.

James was preceded in death by his brother, Jermaine Scott, and his grandmother, Lillie Mae Manning.

On the evening of September 20, 2026, James answered the Master’s call at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Unlonda Knight Scott; two children, Jai Scott and Alisha Scott; one granddaughter, Alaia Scott; one grandson, Jayden Givens; his stepfather, James Williams; his stepmother, Thelma Scott; and his siblings, Erica Moody (Clarence), LaTechia Goolsby (Darryl), Tony Brown (Trina), and Courtney Duty (Ken).

He also leaves his stepchildren, Miasha Knight, Andrew Lee Givens, and Delondra Knight; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and his special friend, Angelia Jackson.
