Patricia A. Cooper , 73, of Wellborn, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025. Born on October 5, 1951, in Wellborn, she was the daughter of the late Louise Perry and Freeman Cooper.​

She graduated from Douglass High School in Live Oak, Florida, an all-Black school that served African American students during segregation and was a cornerstone of education and community pride.​

Patricia enjoyed doing domestic work for years prior to working at Pilgrim's Pride, where she gave 15 years of faithful service. She later joined the Wellborn Post Office, where she became a trusted and familiar face to her neighbors and friends for over 20 years.​

Patricia was the proud and devoted mother of four children: Wakina Johnson-Taylor (Terrence), Nakina Weary, Shamar Taylor, and Tyre T. Taylor (Tonya). Her children were the joy of her life, and she poured her heart into nurturing, encouraging, and loving them unconditionally.​

Patricia was preceded in death by the love of her life and the father of her children, Leon Taylor.​

She is survived by her siblings: Phillip Mitchell (Catherine), Irene Kaymore (Robert), Thomas Brown, Alphonso Randall (Laura), Alonzo Randall, Shirley U. Cooper, Brenda Dayneo, Michael Cooper, Brenda Cooper, Russell Cooper, and stepbrother Danny Cooks. She was preceded in death by her siblings Eugene Mitchell, David Cooper, and Carolyn Cooper.​

She leaves behind a loving extended family, including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Among them, her aunt Willie Mae William (John) held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by three aunts and an uncle.​

Patricia's unwavering strength, dedication to her family, and love for her community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.​
