Roosevelt Hills was born December 16, 1929, in Clearwater, Florida to the late Deacon George and Rachael Hills.
He attended Fort White Junior High School in Fort White, Florida. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked many years for Deese Pulpwood Company.
He was affectionally know by many as Anky, Roller, and Coaster. He loved his family and his community and always met everyone he encountered with a smile. He loved to sing and in his earlier year and was a member of the "Heavenly Gospel Quartet
He made his transition from this life on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Rachael Hills, three siblings; George Hills, Jr, Barry Hills, and Rosemary Harris and two children Victor cook and Sharon Hills.
He leaves to cherish his memories: One brother; Deacon Alexander Hills (Mary) of Miami, Florida, three daughters; Veronica Edwards (Willis) and Valarie Hills of Fort White, Florida and Vera Blake (Rev. Leo Blake) of Alachua, Florida, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
