Rosetta
Townsend
May 21, 1951 — Jun 30, 2025
Sis. Rosetta Townsend was born on May 21, 1951 to Dosie Lee Jones and Willie Reid of Leesburg, FL. She along with her siblings enjoyed growing up in the neighborhood. School was a great place to be, enjoying her friends. Rosetta was a proud 1969 JRE Lee graduate. She continued her education, earning her Associate's degree at North Florida Community College in Madison. Florida. She spent 46 years meeting and greeting travelers at the Florida Welcome Center in Jennings, FL. She worked hard and co-workers found her to be a great team member.
Rosetta accepted Christ at an early age, joining Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful worshipper until her health failed. Rosetta enjoyed being a Golden Member and visits with the church's missionary society. She would joyfully sing along and praise with them and she was so grateful for it all.
She kept the faith as she traveled back and forth to the doctor and to church on good days. This was time well spent with her devoted nephew, Gerald Cheery who was also her caretaker and chauffeur. She made sure her make-up and everything was in place when going out.
After a long- fought battle, on Monday, June 30, 2025, a beautiful life on earth came to a close. Sis Rosetta answered the Master's call.
She was preceded in death by her mother- Dosie Lee Jones, father -Willie Reid of Leesburg, FL, sisters- Elouise Jones and Addie Clay, brother- Joseph Jones, nephews – Paul and Darryl Henderson and Clifford Clay and niece – Lucretia Henderson.
