Born at Pineview General Hospital, Valdosta, GA, Steve grew up in the Westside / Jones Community and joined the church at a young age. He developed a love of playing the drums by watching his father play as his heart's desire. Steve played several sports through local Little League programs. He was educated in the Lowndes County School System. A proud graduate of Lowndes High School class of 1 984 and a member of the Lowndes Viking football team as an offensive tackle. Steve had a way of lighting any room with his smile and happy personality. He never met a stranger of any age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pastor James H. Brown, Jr. and Mother Cladyes Little Brown, grandparents James Harold Brown, Sr. and Lucy A. Brown, Lawrence Little and Eliza Little Tipton, brother Willie Alvin Brown, his former wife Tracey L. Brown. Steve leaves a family he loved and cherished. He is survived by his wife, Gracie Benjamin Brown, Naylor, GA.; daughter, Ashley Brown, Valdosta, GA; and Bonus children, Mindy Stallings, Stephanie Benjamin, and Darren Washington. Siblings; Kathy Brown Cobb, Valdosta, GA, Fred (Carolyn) Brown, Sr., Valdosta, GA, Drs. Veronica (Bishop Harvey B.) Bee, Warner Robins, GA; dedicated and loving Nephew, Timothy Carter, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
