Mr. Taft Smith , son of the late Mr. Taft Smith Senior and Idella Smith, was born on July 12, 1954. He received his education in the public schools of Homerville, GA.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Christine Hill on August 3, 1978. They were blessed with beautiful children-Samantha and Derek.

Taft was a man of many talents. He was a welder, a handy man, but most of all he worked in logging Taft spent 45 plus years working in logging. He retired in March 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents—Idella and Taft Sr. and Daughter (Michelle).

He leaves to cherish his loving and devoted Wife-Christene Smith; Sons-Taft Jr. (Tracie) and Derek (Jennifer); Daughter-Samantha (Rocky); Brothers— Calvin (Shelia) and James; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Sisters-in-Law- Lucille Syler, Sylvia Pands, and Virginia Gandy and other relatives and friends.
