Turlease Elnoria Merricks Rayford was born on November 29, 1954, to her loving parents, Ruby Collins Stallings and Aaron Jack Merricks.

Throughout her life, Turlease was known for her warmth, her resilience, and her devotion to those she loved. She was first united in marriage to Louis Pierce and later remarried to Leroy Rayford, with whom she continued her life journey surrounded by family and love.
Turlease passed away peacefully at home, in her sleep, surrounded by the comfort and presence of her loved ones. Her passing was gentle, just as her spirit was, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.

Turlease now rests alongside her beloved parents, Ruby Collins Stallings and Aaron Jack Merricks; her treasured siblings, Dorothy Gabriel, Barbara J. Merricks-Edwards, Jacqueline D. Parnell, Simmie D. Merricks-Collins, and Olen Stallings;and her precious son, Louis Pierce Jr., a.k.a "Pumpkin."

Turlease 's love and legacy continue through her devoted children, Cauthria Pierce and L.C. Merricks; her cherished grandchildren, Keesha Knox, Kelysha Knox, Tarekia Hart, DeMariana Weary, Angela Merricks, and Kendrick Merricks; and her beloved siblings, Surleanor Contreras, Evette Williams, Martha Davis, C.J. Stallings, Kennth Merricks, and Fredrick Williams. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were touched by her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
