A Time to Grow: Life Long resident of Live Oak, FL (Suwannee County) Graduated 1952, Douglas High School. Raised in loving home with 13 siblings.
A Time to Love: Joined in Holy Matrimony, August 28, 1962 to the late Rev. David R. King.
A Time To Serve: Served faithfully and devoted to Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, McAplin, Florida in various capacities: Assistant Sunday School; President of the Jackson- Mackey Missionary Society; Member of Stewardess Board; President/Member of Pastor Aide Board. Served as a devoted Minister's wife during her tenure as member of the Eleventh Episcopal District Florida Conference. Chairperson of the Handy Simmon Scholarship Fund Committee for several years. Farnell-Ayers Area Women Missionary Society, Chairperson eight years. President of the Florida Minister's Spouse Alliance eight years. Honored to be a Silver Sister in the missionary Society. Served as delegate – two Quadrennial – Fla. Conference. Served as a member of Heroines of Jericho Flora Court #37, Live Oak. Fla since 1979.
A Time to Die: God called her home on July 9 th , 2020.
Preceded in death by: parents, Isaiah and Lillie Grant, and eleven Siblings and two children.
A time to be mourned: Cherished memories in the heart of her family. Her three children Michael L. Miller, Martha R. Kelsey (Leander), and Daniel King (Allene); a stepdaughter, Eppie Brown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also, one sister, Vernell Davis; one brother, Johnny L. Grant; one sister-in-law, Daisy Ivey (Benjamin); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
