Wilene Cobbs Anderson was born in Jasper, Florida to the late Willie Lee and Evangeline Cobbs,
on May 27, 1931. Wilene attended public schools in Jasper, Florida. In 1949 Wilene married
Wallace Anderson Sr and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1956. In 1964 she relocated to
Tampa, Florida and was employed at Tampa United Methodist Center. She worked with special
needs children for twenty-seven years and retired in 1994.
On January 8, 2023, God called Wilene Anderson home. Till memories fade and life departs, you
will live forever in our hearts.
In addition to her parents Willie Lee and Evangeline Cobbs, Wilene was preceded in death by
Aunt, Rosa Lee White, Sisters, Ruby Simon, Catherine Grandberry, and Helen Hayes. Brothers,
Saul Cobbs and Henry Lee Cobbs. Devoted son, Wallace Anderson Jr. and Granddaughter Tasha
Griffin.
Wilene leaves to cherish her fond memories: loving daughters Patricia Ann Anderson of Atlanta,
GA, Frances (Adolphus) Adams, Cheryl Denise Anderson of Jacksonville, Fl, Verdia Angela
Anderson of Tampa, Fl, and Lenora Michelle Brantley of Riverview, Fl,. Sons Ronald Glenn
Anderson of Jasper, FL and Gregory (Maureen) Anderson of Tampa, Fl. Devoted grandson
Shawn Anderson and loving granddaughter Artrice Richardson of Wesley Chapel, Fl.
Wilene had 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A host of
